Django in June

Just so you know, I have lived my adult life as a low income activist and/or working musician. I am acutely aware that many of the people who would most like to attend Django Camp—and who would contribute greatly to it—are least able to afford it. The sad, but true facts are that (1) Django in June is not a non-profit with tons of funding flowing its way and (2) our sponsors (bless 'em) just help me cover basic expenses. Peek behind the curtain of Django in June and "The Great and Powerful Oz" turns out to be...me.

As you have seen on the registration page, I have requested that people contribute to a scholorship fund. We'll see what we get. If you could use some assistance getting to Django Camp, please jot me a note to that effect. Tell me a little about your situation and give me your bottom line. What would it take to get you here? If a $100 housing subsidy will really help you over the threshold, there's a pretty good chance that we'll be able to offer you that. If you can only pay half (or nothing at all)...well, that's a taller order. Like I said, we'll see what kind of response we get from my request for contributions.

You do your best and I'll do mine. Keep your fingers crossed, until we need them for playing!
